It never ends…

So many books, so little time. Everybody and their grandmother (especially the grandmothers) have boxes of books packed away, or shelves littered with old books… and then once they decide to cut down on their collection, we get to sift through them; pan for literary gold. Or silver, brass or even copper. You get enough copper together and it becomes profitable. And it’s always fun to hypothesize (if we don’t already know) what the previous owner was like. Their obsessions, both professional and personal, are usually pretty obvious. Sometimes we can (or could, if we had the time) chart people’s obsessions throughout their book-buying career.

I should note, too, that there were at least a dozen more boxes we picked up from the lady that are not pictured above, but are filling that room quite cozily!
