In recognition of Lauren Bacall’s life, legacy and recent passing, I put together a simple photo mouse-over effect, which I put on its own page. Simple but, I think, effective. I was going to put it directly into the blog post, but the formatting was not being agreeable.
I am somewhat ashamed to admit I have never seen To Have and Have Not (1944) where she has her famous line to Bogart:
“You know you don’t have to act with me, Steve. You don’t have to say anything, and you don’t have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle. You know how to whistle, don’t you, Steve? You just put your lips together and… blow.”
But my favorite has to be Key Largo (1948). So damn classic.
My silver screen super-crush, may she rest in peace.
