QI – Literature

I’ve been a fan of Stephen Fry since I first saw him, years and years ago, in the Jeeves and Wooster TV series with Hugh Laurie. Since then, Mr Fry has written several books of fiction and non-fiction, including a spectacular book on writing poetry, been in several other TV productions and movies and documentaries and so forth. Busy dude.

He’s been hosting QI for over ten years now. You always learn something new! (and peculiar, and often naughty). The initial concept for the quiz show was that the contestants (all comedians) would get points for the most interesting answers, if not necessarily for the right answer (in fact it’s still billed as “Comedy quiz show full of quirky facts, in which contestants are rewarded more if their answers are ‘quite interesting'”.). I have a feeling that’s harder to score. The scoring system is a bit esoteric, final scores are often in the negative, but all that’s totally beside the point. The show is more a groundwork/excuse for the comedians to riff off random topics.

I’ll shut up now and let you watch one of the latest episodes! LITERATURE!

(most episodes are available on Youtube, if the video stops working.)
