This Day In History June 14th 1940: The German Army Enters Paris

Hey folks, Mike here. Continuing the “this day in history’ series i have today the darkest moment in 20th century French history; the fall of Paris to Hitler. Seventy-six years ago today the German army completed their shockingly successful Blitzkrieg campaign against France. It marked the end of the Third Republic and the dawn of four and half years of occupation.

To commemorate the darkest hour in the modern history of the City of Lights i have put together a first half of the 20th century Paris book lot. Enjoy your own slice of the “movable feast’ that is Paris during its darkest moments.
